Our Shetland Wool collection begins once more at a family owned, eighteenth-century mill nestled in the far north of Scotland’s Aberdeenshire. There, generations of skilled workers have spun yarn widely admired, even envied for its unlikely balance of softness and durability, and a lightweight feel that yields easy, disproportionate warmth. But this year we’re trying something new and a bit unorthodox with our most extensive Shetland offerings yet. So alongside the sturdy grays and simple stripes that make a staple, you’ll encounter a shock of garden leaf green, vibrant and dominant patterns, and silhouettes drawn from unlikely sources. And it’s all been brushed twice to tease out the wool’s natural fibers, soft against your and any other skin that might feel it.
