The fisherman sweater comes from the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland, where it protected generations of coastal workers and seafarers from all manner of weather. It’s highly functional and practical - its dense woolen knit offers warmth and protection from wind and water, not to mention its strength stylistically as well.
To make ours, we partnered with one of the oldest knitwear mills in the UK to make a sweater that we feel lives up to its name.
In addition to the usual crewneck, this season we’ve also made belted and hooded versions - the latter which is a throwback to one from the first iteration of Noah. They all feature traditional diamond and cable knit patterns, evoking the nets and rope that symbolize a fisherman’s trade - our tribute to those who choose to earn their living on the shore, year round.
