When you grow up on or near a body of water, that body of water becomes the backdrop to just about everything in your life. For us, that body of water was, and still is, The Great South Bay, which stretches between Long Island and Fire Island. Long Island's postwar pollution surge led to disastrous levels of pollution that produce toxic algae blooms, which can choke the oxygen out of the Bay. Additionally, the loss of wetlands has deprived the area of its natural filtration system. Though the environmental problems we face are global, often our actions are most effective at the local level. For this reason, we made this small capsule collection and will be donating 100% of the proceeds to Save The Great South Bay.
