Noah x Adidas Originals Fall Footwear
For our latest collaboration with Adidas Originals, we looked back to one of our most sought-after runners in the Adidas catalogue, the adiZero Pro. Originally released in 2005, it’s a shoe - that to be honest - didn’t need much of an update in our eyes since it’s development by Omori-San nearly 20 years ago. That said, we wanted to challenge ourselves by designing something versatile we could wear for a morning workout as well as with a suit. It’s a bit unexpected in that regard but we feel this stripped-back runner still remains faithful to Omori-San’s original design, featuring a similar mesh upper with suede accents atop an improved performance running midsole.
Upon first glance our vintage runner may look like something straight out of the Adidas archives, when in fact we we ultimately created a new style that looks like it could have walked the streets of West Germany in the 1970s. Early in the design process we found an old track spike that had an interesting upper. We then combined this with an outsole typically found on classic Adidas running shoes throughout the 1970s - similar to what was used on the SL 72.
Taking advantage of responsible innovation, we integrated Primeblue mesh into the suede uppers. By opting for color combos that hark back to classic 70s Adidas leisure wear and track uniforms, the end result ultimately captures that timeless aesthetic while remaining uniquely Noah in spirit.
