Whether you were born in New York, chose to move here, or simply love what it represents, you probably know that not everyone in this city has it easy. In fact, 1 in 5 New Yorkers live in poverty and over 40% are at or near the poverty line. This is a sobering statistic, especially around the holidays, and that's why we're donating all proceeds from this year's Keith Haring holiday collaboration to New York Cares.
New York Cares is an organization created to make volunteer work more effective by using tools and practices big businesses employ to be successful. Planning, logistics, measurement, quality control and customer relationship management allow New York Cares to address the city's problems on a scale commensurate with its population. They've been at it for 32 years, and we're impressed by their commitment and reach.
