On Saturday, January 5th, 2019, NOAH held its first Cannonball Run, a 4.5 mile, guerrilla foot race through New York City.
35 participants of varying ages and backgrounds braved the wind and rain to assemble in front of the American Museum of Natural History for the 9 AM start time. Their entry fee was a donation of warm clothing to The Bowery Mission.
The finish line was NOAH's flagship store at 195 Mulberry Street in Soho. The route each runner chose to get there was up to them--the only rule was that it had to be entirely on foot.
The first place finisher came blazing through NOAH's doors shortly after our team made it back to the shop in our van. He was followed less than a minute later by second place.
The rest of the pack filtered in over the next hour, and were met with high fives and cheers from their fellow Cannonballers, and the friends and family who came out to show their support.
Coffee and donuts were served, and trophies were awarded. After receiving his trophy, our 1st place runner spoke about the charity he raced for: The Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem, to which NOAH made a $1,000 donation on his behalf. All participants were given official race-day t-shirts.
