Noah x Barbour A/W ‘24
For this season's Noah x Barbour collaboration, we stayed true to the classic jacket styles we have always admired from them in the Border and Bedale. Staying true to the original intent behind Barbour jackets, we’ve carefully selected fabrics that honor the enduring qualities synonymous with the brand. Each material choice needed to be exceptionally durable—built to last a lifetime or more—while maintaining a refined aesthetic. The incredibly heavy Washed Cotton Bedale embodies the spirit of the waxed cotton it replaces, delivering a toughness that withstands daily wear and rewards the wearer by improving in character with every outing.
The equally durable Casentino wool stands the test of time and use, offering a slightly warmer touch and returning to its original role as a material once crafted to protect animals from the wind and cold of Italian winters. In this case, the animals are us. The distinctive rough finish results from a traditional distressing process that makes the wool tougher and warmer than others, and ideal for men’s overcoats.
Finally, Donegal’s one-of-a-kind mill Magee has contributed a cloth as charming as it is timeless, woven into the new Border silhouette Noah has adopted. With its longer length, this style provides added weather protection, while the dense, natural weave repels wind and cold—whether you’re out for a country walk or navigating a city that demands defense against both natural and urban elements.
To help bring this collection to life we turned towards our friends & family who are constant sources of inspiration and embody everything that we design into when creating a piece of clothing. Their physically active, engaged lives pursuing their passions give them a unique perspective of the world.
We caught up with them to hear about what fall means to them and gain some insight into their passions and hobbies.

What does the fall mean to you?
Fall is all about migration and tricky warbler identification.
Why birding?
What really got me hooked on birding was learning about the migrations birds make in the Spring and Fall. The Semipalmated Sandpiper, a small shorebird that passes through Jamaica Bay in the fall, will travel thousands of miles from their nesting grounds in the Arctic to winter in South America every year. Pretty crazy!
How did you come to do this activity?
After I hurt my knee running, I started walking the same routes I used to run and began noticing all the birds I used to speed past. Turns out birds are cool and I've been bent on learning more about them ever since.
Where is your favorite place to be?
By the water.

What does the fall mean to you?
The change of seasons is always amazing, especially Fall in the Northeast. Striped Bass fishing gets really good along with False Albacore and Bonito. Fall also means great waves. The ocean really comes alive in the Fall!
Why fly fishing?
The prep, the pursuit and I love to cast a fly rod. Conservation is extremely important to me--I de-barb all my hooks and practice catch and release.
How did you come to do this activity?
My mother introduced me to fly fishing in fresh water when I was in grade school. I pursued this for some time until I was exposed to salt water fly fishing.
Where is your favorite place to be?
The ocean side and back bays of Eastern Long Island.

Scouring used bookstores for old botanical/gardening/horticulture/floristry books. I keep a sizable digital library of scans from all the books I've collected over the years and often reference them in project proposals.
What does the fall mean to you?
The liminal space between verdant and decay. It's an incredibly exciting time of year to work with the living world —you can find the most exquisite marbled leaves and petals as they begin their transition from burgeoning plant to food for the soil below. Who doesn't stop to gasp at the electric yellow of the Ginkgo tree or the flashes of red on the Maple?
Why florals?
To hold a flower in your hand is to hold the alchemy of the earth...and then to share it with another feels like a magic trick. Who has not been mystified by the magic of the four elements melding into one beautiful and fleeting form.
How did you come to do this activity?
As a child I often made sculptures of twigs and leaves and I suppose I never stopped. I spent several years working as a freelance florist in New York for a slew of talented florists...during that time I learned a lot about how I would want to run a floral studio of my own and also how I wouldn't. This industry is a filthy one; extractive and exploitative, flowers (which don't last longer than a few days) are flown around the world from farms where they are often monocropped and tended to by a labor force that is underpaid and exposed to high levels of chemicals. I didn't want to take part in that system, so I started to disrupt it. Our aim at Field Studies is to showcase the variety and beauty of the plants that grow alongside us, those that are often overlooked in traditional floristry. We're interested in the flora that grows abundantly and how florists might work in a more reciprocal rhythm with the natural world.
Where is your favorite place to be?
The place where I stand in awe of a gorgeous curving vine, or an exquisite bloom whether that's in the field, the forest or somewhere near the ocean.
