Beauty is in the Backyard
Most people think of “getting away” as getting far away. You pack a bag, you book a flight, you chase some version of paradise across an ocean. The imagery everywhere is white sand, foreign streets, and exotic cuisine perfectly arranged to live on someone's social media feed.
There’s this weird cultural pressure especially in fashion to go far to feel something. As if meaning, inspiration, and beauty only exist in rare corners of the world. But that’s just not true. Some of the best things we’ve ever seen, we’ve seen close to home.
We’re not chasing the fantasy. We’re just returning to what’s always been there. The old roads, quiet towns, the rolling sand dunes, a stillness to the air and a rhythm of a place you don’t have to learn, you just remember.
We come from this. The places that shaped us were never that far away and we know most people live like that too. You don’t need a plane ticket to find inspiration, you probably just need a Saturday and a full tank of gas. A good book in tow wouldn’t hurt either.
