Age is Only a Number

When we first started Noah one of the things we talked a lot about was the idea that age is not what it used to be. This is an important idea for those of us that are already older, but maybe even more important for those who are still young. It’s been proven that you don’t have to grow up in the same way anymore. You can remain young at heart and pursue your passions. You can skate, surf, run, make music - whatever you want.

Young and old is a construct that need not be believed, and very recently this has come to my attention via two things that have meant the world to me. The first being The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Having just released a new record it shows that creativity and energy is not the exclusive right of those young in years. Check the ages of Anthony, Flea, Chad and John - and give thanks that they lead by example. It’s proof that if you are young today you don’t have to fear age.

The second is skateboarding. The new film about Tony hawk speaks to an entire generation of skaters who did not give up with age. They’ve broken down the walls that were previously built by those who didn’t understand that life is meant to be lived right until the very end, and that to stop pursuing what you love a moment too soon would be a tragedy.

I’ve actually heard that there have been customers who thought Noah is too young or too cool, or whatever, for someone 35 or 40 or 50. Nothing could be further from the truth. It was specifically designed for young and old who share the same passion and energy for things. Age is truly just a number.
