Donegal Wool Herringbone
This hardwearing, coarse, yet luxurious Donegal wool tweed is as textured and storied as its lineage. Sourced and woven along the Atlantic northwest coast in Ardara, County Donegal, the fabric comes from a sixth-generation, family-owned mill—one of the few, alongside Magee, still preserving this tradition. They continue to uphold the craft’s integrity by pursuing PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status and passing on hand-weaving techniques to a new generation of makers.
True to the mill’s aesthetic, the design maintains a neutral base, punctuated by the bright flecks that define Donegal tweed—traditionally created using natural dyes extracted from local flowers, moss, seaweed, and berries. These subtle bursts of color mirror the rugged beauty of the Donegal landscape itself.
