NOAH - British Wool Hopsack

British Wool Hopsack

Spun and woven in Yorkshire, England at a mill founded in 1875, this wool hopsack reflects a long tradition of cloth made with tailoring in mind. The robust 2 ply merino wool yarn in both the warp and weft is very characteristic of authentic English fabric and preferred by Savile Row tailors for its ease of tailoring, comfortable weight and firm handling that retains drape and holds press.

Hopsack refers to its basket weave construction, which is open and uniform, giving the fabric breathability while maintaining the appearance of substance. It wears well through frequent use, and remains comfortable across a wide range of temperatures. The weave allows air to move freely, making it as suitable in warmer months as it is layered through cooler ones.

Its lightness and resilience make it especially well suited for travel, easy to wear, pack, and rely on without much thought. We kept it classic in navy and finished it with horn buttons to preserve its versatility. It is a fabric that moves easily between settings and seasons, and one you can return to year after year.
