Japanese Slub Back Satin
When we look to reference historical archetypes of military uniform, we hope to do so in an authentic way that captures the things we like most about them, fabric being one of the greatest components. In these cases, we turn to our Japanese mills, whose careful attention and eagerness to accurately recreate vintage fabrics produce the closest results we've come across. Better yet, they take on the added challenge of capturing the same properties which historically relied on synthetics, using only natural fibers; in this case, 100% organic cotton. For our military pant of the season, based on a 60s US nurse's pant, we searched intently for a slubback satin that had a dry and crisp hand that strikes a balance between sturdy and soft, in a hue that offers a washed look without trying too hard. We think we successfully found that balance in this cotton cloth.
