We are looking for a part-time technical designer to support our design and production teams through strong technical proficiency, organization, and communication. Working at our NYC office, this role will collaborate directly with both teams to achieve correct fits and design details from the inception of each design to final approval, within the design calendar deadlines.
Responsibilities will include:
- Interact with design team during prototype development to achieve intended designs.
- Participate and help lead sample fittings, offering feedback on fits and construction.
- Update all fit notes and revised size specs into our software in a timely manner.
- Clearly communicate pattern spec and fit changes to production via email and in BeProduct.
- Ensure that all prototypes and samples are reviewed upon arrival.
- Help maintain organization and labeling of samples both physically and digitally.
- Support team leaders on building new blocks.
- Work on samples for multiple seasons and collaborative projects simultaneously while working with production to prioritize accordingly.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a technical design role preferred
- Pattern making & garment construction knowledge preferred
- Experience with Beproduct or PLM is a plus
- Degree in technical design or pattern-making, preferred (minimum)
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment
- Detail oriented, self-motivated and proactive team player
